Bebop Scale Workout

Everything You Need to Learn and Engrain The Bebop Scales

Part 2 - Lesson 2

Taught by: Teague Bechtel

Beginner, Intermediate, Advanced, Master

This lesson is all about developing the perpetual motion exercise.

Introduction

The perpetual motion exercise helps us develop agility with the bebop scale vocabulary. With this exercise you can practice working in all the different embellishments that can be added to the bebop scale and build technique and speed. As with most everything we play in jazz, we need to engrain the ideas so as we hear harmony we can address it with clear ideas. This exercise is intended to develop muscle memory with the bebop scale.
