Julie began playing piano at age 5, and was fortunate to have been born into a musical family.  Upon entering junior high, she began accompanying church services, instrumentalists and singers as well as school choirs.  She later studied piano performance at Hamline University in St. Paul, MN.  She moved to Los Angeles in 2001 mainly to escape the cold temperatures in the midwest, and while playing gigs wherever she could get hired, began teaching piano.  Piano By Julie has been providing music lessons since, and we are so grateful to all of our wonderful students and parents for letting us show them great music!
