Mike Abresch is a performing musician who has taught in Blaine for more than 15 years to students of all ages and abilities. He became a member of the Macalester College symphonic band at age 14, and became a member of the University of MN Jazz Ensemble I at age 17. At the U of M, he majored in music performance, studying flute with David Eagle. He is also a three-time National Flute Association competition winner, and the creator of the website jazzimprov101.org, a uniquely effective beginning jazz improvisation method. In addition to his musical experience, Mike has spent 20 years working in the field of human services.
