Instructor at KRL Drums, Kenneth Lawrence has grown up around music and musicians. Beginning at age 8, Kenneth began taking drum lessons from his father, renowned percussionist Jay Lawrence, and from Kelly Wallis, President and Owner of Salt City Drums. Since then, Kenneth has become an accomplished drummer, winning first place in various competitions and placing well in others. Among these are the Percussive Arts Society and the Heritage Music Festival.

As a drum instructor, Kenneth has also accomplished much. While teaching as the Lehi High School drumline instructor, he led the entire drumline to win the Outstanding Percussion award at the Nebo Tournament of Bands. Additionally, he was the head drum instructor at the Utah School of Music and Dance, teaching all age groups and various levels of talent. 

Kenneth teaches his lessons using a 6-prong approach: technique, reading, jazz, rock, Latin, and musicianship. This teaching method is adopted from celebrated musician Jay Lawrence.

KRL Drums offers private drum lessons to students of all levels. No long-term contracts are required, and we have a continuous "open-enrollment" policy. This means lessons can start anytime!
