I am a freelance guitarist living in Denver, CO. I hold my doctorate in jazz studies from the University of Northern Colorado and perform regularly with a number of different groups in different styles ranging from pop and blues to jazz. My newest album "Back at the Roadhouse" (2018) features all original compositions influenced heavily by my interest in the 1960's Blue Note Records sound. I have over 10 years teaching experience of all levels and most recently served as the instructor of guitar at Casper College in Wyoming. I have extensive experience teaching basic to advanced improvisation concepts and music/jazz theory. My dissertation analyzing the jazz vocabulary of Grant Green has resulted in a number of speaking engagements on the subject of jazz improvisation and is the basis for my first course here on Musiclessons.com.
