Hello! My name is Elyse Emerich and I have been teaching piano for over 10 years. Nothing makes me happier than helping another person learn to play piano and understand music. I enjoy teaching students of all ages and ability levels: as young as 4 years-old to beyond retirement. I think learning to play music is inherently fun, but even more fun when learning familiar songs and pieces- which is why I like to teach a variety of musical styles such as classical, jazz, and popular music. I also enjoy helping people learn the fundamentals of music theory, so they can apply them at the piano and create their own music through composition and improvisation. 

I am an experienced and qualified teacher; I earned my Masters Degree in Piano Pedagogy from Texas Christian University, where I taught for the Music Preparatory Division for five years. Prior to that, I earned my Bachelors of Music Degree in Piano Pedagogy from the University of Oklahoma. I am also a member of the Music Teachers National Association and continue to actively participate in professional development related to my field.
